Balmoral Plum Pure Cashmere Throw – Luxurious Scottish Woven Cashmere
Product Description
Some things are simply too beautiful to hide away and our Balmoral Plum Pure Cashmere Throw is most definitely one of them.
Rich, sumptuous and irresistibly soft, this exquisite 100% pure cashmere blanket is a celebration of one of the world's most luxurious natural fibres, woven and finished in Scotland, a country renowned for its exceptional cashmere craftsmanship.
The colour is quite extraordinary. A deep, sophisticated purple with warm plum and aubergine undertones, it has a beautiful richness that changes subtly with the light. The fine cashmere fibres give the fabric a gentle, silky lustre, adding depth and elegance to an already stunning colour.
But as beautiful as it looks, it's the feel of this blanket that makes it truly special.
Cashmere is prized for its exceptionally fine fibres, which create a wonderfully soft, smooth handle and remarkable warmth without unnecessary weight. This is a fine, beautifully draping cashmere throw, rather than a heavy traditional wool blanket. It settles effortlessly around your shoulders, feels wonderfully gentle against the skin and provides that delicious sense of comfort that makes you want to stay curled up just a little longer.
Imagine a quiet Sunday morning, the house still peaceful, a favourite book and a cup of coffee, with this gorgeous cashmere wrapped around you. Or a winter evening, when the fire is lit, the curtains are drawn and there's nowhere else you'd rather be.
At a generous 200cm x 140cm, the Balmoral Plum is beautifully proportioned for both comfort and styling. There's ample length to wrap yourself in its softness, while its elegant drape makes it equally stunning laid across a sofa, folded at the foot of a bed or casually placed over a favourite armchair.
And because the colour is so striking, this is a blanket that needs very little company. Against cream, warm grey, charcoal or natural linen, the rich purple becomes a beautiful focal point, introducing colour and understated glamour without the need for bold patterns or elaborate accessories.
Woven and finished in Scotland, this exceptional cashmere throw reflects the country's longstanding reputation for producing some of the finest luxury textiles in the world. It's a tradition built on skilled craftsmanship, careful finishing and an appreciation of beautiful natural fibres, values that sit at the heart of Solway Blankets.
A pure cashmere throw is a considered investment, but it's also something wonderfully personal. A little luxury to enjoy every day, a special gift to mark an important occasion, or a beautiful piece to treasure for many years.
Sometimes the simplest things are the most luxurious, beautiful colour, exquisite cashmere and the pleasure of being wonderfully warm.
Styling Tip / Pairs Well With
The Balmoral Plum is a fabulous statement piece, particularly if you love interiors with rich colour and luxurious natural textures.
For a sophisticated, contemporary look
Drape it across a cream, oatmeal or pale grey sofa and allow the beautiful purple to become the centre of attention. Add warm brass, natural oak or dark walnut for a particularly elegant combination.
For a sumptuous bedroom
Layer it across crisp white bedding, soft taupe linens or deep charcoal. The fine cashmere drapes beautifully and creates that effortless boutique-hotel finish.
If you love purple but prefer a little more pattern and a slightly more substantial woollen texture, discover our Purple Check Luxury Lambswool Throw, a lovely alternative with its own distinctive character.

FAQs
Where are the blankets made?
We are proud to say that all of our blankets are 100% British, being woven in traditional textile mills in all four home nations.
Every piece is crafted using time-honoured techniques by skilled makers and thoughtfully designed to blend beauty, heritage, and everyday comfort.
Can I order a blanket as a gift to be sent to the recipient direct?
Absolutely, we can send your chosen blanket directly to the recipient — simply enter their name, address and your gift message at checkout.
To make it extra special, you can add our luxury gift wrap option: your blanket will arrive in a white gift box, wrapped in tissue and ribbon, with a handwritten card — perfect for birthdays, weddings, or just-because moments.
Are the blankets sustainably made?
Yes — sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. All of our blankets are crafted in the UK using 100% natural wool, a renewable, biodegradable fibre. Most of our collection is made from mono-material yarns, which simplifies recycling and supports a circular approach to home textiles.
We’re also proud to offer a Recycled Wool Collection, made by re-weaving surplus and leftover yarns that would otherwise go to landfill. These blankets are not only eco-conscious, but full of character — each one is unique.
We work exclusively with mills that prioritise ethical sourcing and animal welfare, ensuring our blankets are as kind to the planet as they are to people.
Are they made from natural materials?
They are indeed — all of our blankets are made from wool, a natural and renewable material. Unlike synthetic fibres, wool is fully biodegradable and won’t release plastic microfibres into the environment.
We choose mono-material yarns wherever possible, meaning our blankets contain just one fibre type. This makes them not only gentler on the planet, but also easier to recycle at the end of their life.
Do you delivery internationally?
Yes, we’re delighted to welcome international customers — it means so much to us that our blankets are loved around the world.
International shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and weight. Wherever possible, we use your country’s trusted national postal service to ensure safe and reliable delivery.
We always aim to keep shipping costs fair and transparent, if you have any questions before ordering, we’re just a message away. Whether it’s a gift for a loved one or a treat for yourself, we’ll make sure your blanket arrives beautifully wrapped and ready to enjoy — no matter where you are.
